Woman Trying To Help Injured Deer Struck By Car On Route 206, Airlifted To Hospital: Police
A 24-year-old woman was flown to a New Jersey hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to help an injured deer, authorities said.
Mount Olive police officers responded to Route 206 and Patricia Drive on Tuesday, Sept. 15, where the woman was lying in the roadway after she was struck by a white Mazda while attempting to aid the injured animal, police said.
The Lake Hopatcong woman was airlifted to a hospital, while the 29-year-old Mazda driver, a Flanders woman, remained on the scene and was not injured, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.

The crash happened around 6:47 a.m., when a 2024 Chevrolet driven west by Bonenfant crossed into the eastbound lane for an unknown reason and struck a 2021 Mercedes-Benz head-on, according to New York State Police.

Luis Antonio Cruz Hernandez, 22, of Reading, was riding a 1991 Kawasaki motorcycle when Reading Police attempted to stop him for a traffic violation and excessive speed on Monday, Aug. 10, according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
During the pursuit, Cruz Hernandez traveled to North 9th and Green streets, where his motorcycle collided with a 2017 Acura SUV, the coroner’s office said.

South Jersey firefighter Robert "Bobby" Reider died on Friday, July 10, about two weeks after he was involved in a car crash while responding to a fire, the Malaga Fire Company said. Reider was 23 years old.
